Why UX Design Process is Important ?
In simple terms UX design is the process of enhancing the product’s usability thus making it more appealing for the user. A strong user experience is extremely important for your online marketing success. By using UX design process you can generate leads and grow your business.
Though it sounds simple but it is quite complex, lets examine the UX design process.
1. Understand
One has to understand the problems that are being addressed. Who are the users and what are the problems they are facing. why will they use the solution. Answering these questions invariably prepares a framework for further work. It defines the scope and objectives of the product. This brings us to the next step.
2. Research
User research is the most key aspect of UX design. Research is being done on users, their needs, behavior, psychology, demographic and geographical aspects and everything possible. The more the information the better it is for the end product.
Research data can be accumulated from direct research from field surveys, from customer care department or from competition surveys. Even one can invite users in groups and conduct the surveys.
The point here is interacting directly with users give better quality results rather than from any third party source. One point to note is that the entire product is completely dependent on research results and faulty research ends up with a faulty product.
3. Sketch
Once the results from research come, a basic ideation of the product is formed. The user experience model is defined. Then a sketch is drawn about the user experience that one needs to achieve.
The process is repetitive to give a final shape to the sketch. The design team shares the sketch with different stakeholders to get their inputs. After getting the required inputs from all we move to the next phase that is design.
4. Design & Develope
This is where the idea takes a shape. A prototype is made to explore the different aspects of the products. The page layout, color codes, graphics, themes, images all are incorporated into the design.
This prototyping tells us about the design appearance, functionality, flow of information etc. it is easy to run a preliminary test before the final design. Then the final design is done giving all attention to the visual details.
The product is ready to be developed once the design is set. Everything is developed from the scratch without veering off from the final design. Both UX and UI team work closely to achieve this. All functional aspects are put in place with complete visual elements to give the final shape to make it ready for market.
Once it is developed it is again tasted both by in-house taster and users. If a correction is required then it is incorporated in the product immediately. Learn more about UI Design here.
5. Implement
Now it is ready for launch. Implement the product at market place. Keep a close eye on market so that vital user and competition information keeps coming.
Because with time the functional needs of users changes and addressing them by updating the product periodically is important to stay ahead of competition.
